 One of the best purchases I have ever made! January 7, 2009
I never knew this product even existed until just recently. I may never use a brush again. This has been great at reaching the tough undercoat which Shepards have tons of (We bought the 4 inch). I literally got a large waste basket full of hair! I think it will take 2 to 3 times until I can get to a maintenance stage but it really cuts down on the hair in the house.
Don't hesitate buying one of these, you won't regret it.

Oh my gosh. I have allergies and am so pleased when I was told about this product. I got it for 1/2 the price it is in the store and couldn't beat the "free shipping." I have a golden retriever and it really helps to get rid of her fur, especially all the dandruff from her winter coat. I was amazed the first day of all the hair I removed. The other reviews were very helpful in my final decision, too. I have since told several other people about this secret tool!

I've had my eye on the Furminator for a few months now. I ordered it once my vet recommended it as a solution to the shedding problem. I've only had it one day, but it's change my cat situation in a very positive way!
My two cats shed so much. Every time I pet them there's dead fur in the air and wherever they sit. After a few brushings with this comb, the flying fur is gone. This makes having my cats on my lap, my desk or in my bed even more of a pleasure.
The first few brushings left me with a huge amount of dead hair. It was like having a third cat. Strangely, my cats didn't look any different. But it was great knowing all that hair was gone. They really seem to like when I use the Furminator, especially if I use my other hand to scratch their face. It's a win-win deal.
I wish I'd bought this years ago. I love my cats so much and this is going to make our lives so much happier (and my apartment fur-free!)

Very well made, and pulls the dead hair out like a dream! I love this tool.
 Not what I had hoped for January 6, 2009
I have a black dog who sheds constantly. I had all my hopes up that this would be the tool. But my dog hates it and gets very upset if I use it on her. I keep trying, and she keeps fighting me, and the hair keeps falling!
I don't know if it is just my dog, or if the blade is dull or what the problem could be. But it is useless to me.
