Does the trick, but has flaws January 9, 2007
It has been 2.5 months since I purchased this feeder and no major problems to report. The unit achieves what I intended it to do: feed my cats at predefined times without my intervention. As mentioned in other reviews, the programming scheme and directions are absolutely terrible. One odd issue: I could not get it to recognize 12PM as a feed time. It skipped from 11AM to 1PM. Okay fine, they get fed at 1PM. Luckily, programming has been a "set and forget" task. The worst thing I've noted about this product is that the feed chute is short and straight, allowing our gluttonous cat to stick her paw up it and claw food pellets from the dispensing wheel at will.
Flaws and all, I would not give this thing up because it does get the job done.

My cat is a fatty! She would eat all day if it were up to her. So I bought this and she has stopped meowing at me all day to feed her. She knows that she is only going to be fed at the times that the machine goes off. She was afraid of it at first, but now she is fine with it and of course, loves it.

This has been a very reliable product and I only had a little trouble programming it. Best of all, the cat has learned not to beg me for food.
Great Gadget January 9, 2007
Easy to learn and a great convenience. I am very happy with this product and so is the kitty:) Very easy to understand the instructions. I recommend this to anybody with a pet. Also, it holds a lot of food.
Works great for our small dog. January 7, 2007
We have a small beagle mutt, this works great for her. We didn't realize how much she was over-eating before we had this. Prior to buying this product (which we were a little leary to purchase because of some of the negative reviews on Amazon) she had a self-feeder and ate whenever she wanted to. Needless to say with the old feeder she started to put on the lbs and started getting a little over-weight. The LeBistro is great because once you get it programmed (which wasn't too bad if you just read the directions) the only thing you have to worry about is filling it once a week or so.
